Summer Learning Journey: Week 2 Day 7 Bouns Activity

Bonus Activity
According to numerous researchers and fitness experts, breakfast is the most important meal of the day. They argue that people who eat breakfast will have more energy, be in a better mood, be able to think more clearly, do better at school and end up healthier than people who don’t eat breakfast.
Interestingly, not everyone agrees. In fact, some people believe that breakfast is not the most important meal of the day because people often eat too much food at breakfast time, gain weight and become unhealthy. They think that it is better to skip breakfast and eat a number of small meals later in the day.
After reading the arguments presented above, what do you think? Is breakfast the most important meal of the day? Why or why not?

Sometimes when I have breakfast in the morning I can't think properly because there’s so much things in my brain, but when I don't have breakfast my mind is empty and I can think. I personally think that it's really up to the person whether they want to have their breakfast or not. So for some people it’s important and for others it’s not.

  1. Hi Saveu,

I am really intrigued by your blog post. I must admit that I have never struggled to think clearly after eating breakfast but I completely believe it when you say that it happens to you. Out of curiousity, what do you typically eat for breakfast? Does it have a lot of sugar? I have heard that it can be hard to focus on learning if you've had a high sugar breakfast. I know that I find it hard to concentrate if I've had too many lollies or too much juice or other sugary treats.

Thanks for sharing your experiences with us, Saveu. Your blog has really made me think carefully about what I'm eating for breakfast. In fact, my partner, Andy, usually waits until later in the morning to eat his breakfast. I don't know how he does it, though, as my stomach is usually grumbling by 9:00 a.m. if I don't have something to eat!

A few days ago I was in an important meeting and I had forgotten to eat breakfast and my stomach started to grumble. It rumbled so loudly that everyone in the meeting heard it and they all laughed! Oops!

I hope that you are having a nice holiday and enjoying lots of tasty treats :)

  2. Hello Saveu
You are probably right. For some people, breakfast isn't important to them but for others, it is very important. Great job.
