Memorable time this year/Narrative !

Later on, after our long bus ride to Piha. A skillful, kind lady introduced Camp Piha and explained the rules. She said if there was a fire we must all evacuate immediately.

We then walked to the beach, the sand was boiling hot. It soon became cold.  Once we walked back to the campsite I felt so worn out. I went straight to the girls cabin, I unpack some of my stuff and layed in bed when I heard a loud siren.

We all run down the stairs, I tripped and scraped my leg. So now I was running with my leg bleeding and I was so tired. We all arrived to the safe place.

The Crashing Plane !

A blanket of fog covered the land below with only patches of green grass and some large buildings visible. The higher and higher I got the less I could see the buildings. I got dizzier and dizzier as the plane got higher.

“ Please fasten your seatbelts ”, said a lady in uniform. “ Keep all hand bags under the seats ”, she continued. I quickly did as she said. As I went to the bathroom the plane felt unstable.

I came back to my seat and fell asleep. I couldn’t sleep properly because the plane was shaking like something was wrong with the engine. The engine was making really weird sounds, like the engine was chattering.

I heard the pilot say “ All passengers! Please leave behind all your suitcases/handbags. Please put on a life jacket and make your way to the exit’s ” I said in my head, “ Oh the plane is crashing…..WAIT?....THE PLANE IS CRASHING ??? ” I quickly unfastened my seatbelt put on my life jacket and went down the slide that looked something like a bouncy castle and ended up in the water.

I quickly looked for my family and saw that they were all here. We were safe and sound in the water! After a while a boat came and rescued us.

Food/Culture

On Thursday 8th September at St. Pius X School. The students came to school in Tongan clothes for Tongan language day.

Students came to school in their nice kiekie around their puletaha it showed a lot of the Tongan culture. All the classes from St. Pius X school was to be attended in the hall at lunch time.

The food was provided by some of the students parents. Each class sat at their own tables and they were provided with their own food. Music was played while they were eating.

Narrative Writing

The rhino was following me to the beach. I was walking faster and faster.The rhino was walking faster too. All I could think about was finding my bag. I was shaking. When I got to the beach, I went where there were a lot of people so I could lose sight of the rhino.

I peeked around the people and saw the rhino again, “ Arghhhhh, why is he still there ??? ”, I said. I didn’t have time to swim so I walked quickly to the walkway, glancing around as much as I could to see if I could spot my bag.The rhino was still following me.  

I saw my house from a distance and decided to run. I ran and ran, I didn’t want to look around because that would slow me down. But I had to turn around and as I did, but I tripped. Fortunately I was right outside my house, suddenly the rhino appeared and I saw that he was carrying my bag in his mouth. He opened his mouth and dropped my bag, this whole time he had been trying to let me know that he had been looking after my bag. I felt relieved and grateful.

Prompt: Story from a house’s point of view

Tell this story with the house as the narrator.

“ This is old and ugly who would want to move in here ”, people would tease. I didn’t really care. They were right anyways I would always say. They would always throw rubbish at me, I really couldn’t pick them up because I umm…. I have no hands.

I always see the “ For Sale ” sign in front of me, but nobody really wanted to be in a old house like me. I felt so empty and cold. I just wanted to be torn apart. The next day I saw people coming with bulldozers and more huge vehicles.

The next thing I saw was the Demolition coming towards me and that was the end of me.

Silent Movie - Helpfulness

Blogging Awards

Today my classmates and I got a certificate for blogging during the holidays. Only 4 people got a prize for coming first, second and third. 3 people were tied for second. I came second along with 2 others. But unfortunately one of my classmate couldn't make it on the day. I am so proud of myself for getting a certificate! I can not wait until the next holidays for more fun activities.  

Cathedral

Trip to the Cathedral/ Plan

Last Friday St. Pius X went to St. Patrick's Cathedral.

Once we arrived at the Cathedral, we waited outside for a while.  We then walked around to the other side of the entrance. We entered the door of Mercy and blessed ourselves. We then went to sit down.

After a while father Larry came out singing a song. He showed us where Pope sat and told us that he only sits on the chair next to Pope's chair. A man then came up to the aulter and read the a bible reading.

Then we had holy communion, we sang bread broken and Seauti played the guitar. We waited for the adults to came up and receive bread, then I went up followed by my row to get blessed.

After Mass St. Pius X had a photo with Father Larry. After the photo Father Larry told us the meanings about the stain glass windows. Then we walked back outside, blessed ourselves and sang a song which was merciful like the father.

We went to the hall and ate our lunch. After a while we walked back to the bus and off we went back to school.

Dear Derek,

I am writing a letter to you and hope you receive this.

My name is Saveu, I am from St. Pius x Catholic school, in Auckland, Castledine Cres, Glen Innes.

I have read your book Enemy Pie. If I were to rate your book I would give it a 5 out of 5. I would rate your book 5 out of 5 because I felt that their was a moral that you should get to know them first before you judge them and make them your enemy.

I really found Enemy Pie entering and interesting because I wanted to find out what was in the pie and if it were really yuck or yum.

Tennis Experience

On a sunny day, on the 23rd of February it was room 7’s first time at Tennis in 2016.

First of all we had to get changed into our p.e gear. Right after we got changed we went to the court and then James went around and asked the class what our names was. Then he told us some of the rules.

Then James said, “ Go get a Racket and Bat ! ”. Then James told us to do some warm ups. After our warm up we had to find a partner and one of us had to go to the other side of the court.

Then we played the full, real game of Tennis. After each person got a score we went to the back of the line. After we lined up again it was time for the next class, so we said, “ Thank You, James ! ” and then left for class.

The reason why I pick this writing to be the best is because it was the first time ever to have a professional Tennis player to teach us how to play tennis.

The Type of writing I am doing is Recount.

Soul Friend

Soul Friend

On the feast of St. Patrick, St. Pius X School has a Soul Friend Day. A Soul Friend is a friendship between older students and younger students. It is an Irish tradition.

Long time ago the Holy Faith Sisters had brought Soul Friends to St Pius X School.

I have a soul friend and her name is Krystal. She is in Room 1. She is year 1 and is really shy when she talks to people. She likes to play tag with her friends and she likes to read picture books.

I talk to my Soul Friend about anything she wants. We talk to each other about how we feel. We also share everything we have together. I do buddy reading with my Soul Friend on Thursdays and Fridays. I look forward to know more of my soul friend.

The man is standing in the boat on the long, tall grass, in the middle of the forest. He would die because he has nothing to eat or some animal might come and bite him. He would save him self by finding how to get to the river and find some fish.

Hi and welcome to my 2016 blog, I am 11 years old and I attend St Pius X Catholic school. I am a year 7, in Room 7. I am really looking forward to the new things we learn.  

Holidays

Holidays                           

Everyone doing their last minute shopping from 5 o’clock until the time of our flight down to Wellington.

First of all, my family from Auckland all hopped on a bus and drove to my uncle's house. All the elders and some of the kids were inside the house, and the rest of the family were outside.Then we all ate lunch and got on the bus again and went to the resort, that we were staying at. It was a very long and bumpy ride.Once we got there we all caught up with each other.While we were looking around we all got called in. They told us where we were sleeping and the rules, also the teams we were going to be in.

It was very late at night so we were all dismissed to go and find our rooms. In nearly all of the rooms there were 4 bunk beds in each room. I slept at the top of one of the bunk beds.

The next day we all got ready and went to the main cabin. There we would say prayer, get told what to do for the day and eat.

Then we all got told our teams again, and what we were doing for the day. We were so hot from that day so some of us went from a swim at the river, and some of us went for a swim in the pool.

So after we swam we all went and got changed. Then came back to the main cabin. We had our prayers and some of us went to sleep. That day was so tiring,hot and fun.
